In January 2023 I set a new year’s resolution to write on a monthly basis, not knowing what would come of it. One year and 12 posts later, this blog has taken flight with over 500 readers, and has become a source of fulfillment for me as I learn, research, and attempt to organize my thoughts each month.
To celebrate I wanted to do three things:
1) Say thank you - to my readers and paid subscribers for reading and engaging with this work. As well as my collaborators
and for thinking and writing together, and to David Green for featuring several articles in his newsletter Data Driven HR Monthly.2) Double down on the purpose and value proposition of this blog. The most successful articles over past year had one thing in common: they highlighted what was maybe an unfamiliar idea to readers (like psychometric network analysis, or the lindy effect) and provided tangible analytical tools that people could take and apply themselves.
3) Share a glimpse of what to expect in 2024:
A new Science-to-Practice series will take deep dives into under-appreciated topics in scientific research, translating it into specific, practical actions that business leaders, HR professionals, and people analytics professionals
I will to continue to publish monthly articles with a focus on analytical tools, whether in the format of an idea, a technique, or just a different way of looking at people and organizations.
